Music on the go with the Beoplay A1 speaker

Beoplay A1 speaker from Bang & Olufsen, Hannah in the house

I miss long walks on the beach, the fresh sea air really does soothe the soul. When I visit my family I like to make sure that I spend time on beach. During my visit over Christmas I strolled along the sea front and sand dunes which brought back lots of childhood and adolescent memories. There’s something quite special about growing up by the sea.  I took my new BeoPlay A1 bluetooth speaker out for a play and listened to soothing music while the seagulls tried to sing along. A seagull pooped on Stephen, it was SO funny!

This A1 speaker was designed to be ultra portable, to be used both outdoors and at home. Unmistakably the bang & Olufsen sound is incredible and I’m shocked how they’ve fit it into such a handy sized speaker. With no compromise on quality. It’s pretty sexy looking too with a rounded aluminium grill and leather strap, simple and stylish.

The Beoplay or B&O play (however you like to refer to it) speaker is designed by award winning Danish designer Cecilie Manz. She’s pretty awesome, I love her work. Other than creating awesome designs for Bang & Olufsen she has designed for Fritz Hansen, Muuto, Lightyears, Mindcraft, Stelton Rig Tig and so many more companies, it’s a pretty impressive portfolio.

I’ve promised myself to get more use out of the items I love and not to be so precious. It would be easy to keep this beautiful speaker safe on a pretty shelf but it’s an object that’s meant to have a life, to be at home AND with me on adventures. But of course I’ll be displaying it beautifully in the house!
