Working from home is perfect for me, I get to work on my laptop anywhere around the house, decorate the place in my Scandi style and hang out with Hansel. I have three areas of the house where I like to work, with a cup of coffee, notepad and my laptop. These areas are, the office (of course), my bedroom for when I need rest but still need to get work done and on the sofa next to the window.
As you already know, I’m a Scandinavian design lover and with this passion of hunting for beautiful Scandi products, I like to create that style at home too. This laid back style is calming and just what I need when life gets a little too chaotic.
Here’s a little insight into my three cosy corners of the house where I like to work.
BEDROOM
The fact that I have to spend a lot of time resting because of my post brain op noggin is quite annoying, so I often bring the laptop to bed. I keep the space nice and simple so it’s relaxing enough for me to rest but also calm so that I can work.
The bedroom is in the middle of being re-organised but this corner is starting to look good (I can never make my mind up), I’m in love with my table lamp from Menu, it’s dimmable and gives a relaxing light. My ‘For Rest’ print by One Must Dash is a reminder that I need rest but it’s beautifully bleak too, I adore it.
Keeping the bedroom stylish and minimal I prefer to have a muted colour tone, introducing greenery as a touch a colour and to bring a bit of life to the space.
LIVING ROOM
This simple Habitat sofa is so comfortable, I snuggle in this corner with my Donna Wilson Blanket, it’s a perfect place to read and look onto the garden. I’ve just got this Ikea plant pot designed by Ilsa Crawford, it’s dreamy! , my plant doesn’t quite fit in it but I’ll sort that out later. Having this plant next to the window feel like I’m bringing the outdoors, in. Then I don’t feel so guilty working when it’s nice outside.
Hansel finds it soooo relaxing too, haha. I made him this scratching post out of cardboard boxes, I like to think that it’s saved the sofa from complete destruction.
OFFICE
I’m so lucky to have an office/studio at home. The space is nice and bright with painted floorboards and white walls. My main purchase for this room was the HAY ‘About a chair‘ which I got upholstered inside with Kvadrat fabric! Hansel and I often fight for this seat!
Once I set the laptop up here, the serious work happens, or so I like to think!
Making a mood board on the wall is always fun, I saved my favourite flyers from my design trips, plus an iron on cat patch coz it looks like Hansel.
So there we are, a little tour around my home and the three cosy corners where I like to work. How would you create your style in your work place?

Your home is so lovely, I’d be happy to work in any of those three corners! I’ve recently just started working in my spare room at a desk, and it makes such a difference to my productivity rather than my usual spots of sofa and bed, so I admire you for being able to work there. I need a chair like yours for my office though – that’s just gorgeous!
Thanks so much Molly! It is very tempting to just curl up and watch telly, or sleep!
Such a gorgeous space Hannah. I look forward to working from it soon (hint hint, nudge nudge). Also, I’m pretty sure Hansel is the star of this post and all areas wouldn’t be complete without him!
Ah EJP I do need to sort out the day that’s best, I’ll message ya. Oh and Hansel is totally the star of the post and the house too, he’s VERY demanding. x
Home working is lovely and you have so many nice spots to choose from! Love Hansel yawning his head off, he heh x
