Once a lounger, always a lounger. Last week I had the perfect opportunity to try out a cool chair from Fredericia. The new matt edition of the Stingray rocker chair, a modern classic by Danish designer Thomas Pedersen.
Inspired by nature the Stingray rocker chair has large organic forms with a flowing shape of a stingray. This design allows you to sit back and relax in various positions. After styling it in my home and photographing it from every angle, I made sure that I lounged for hours with my feet up (research purposes of course).
Made from vacuum formed plastic, this chair is incredibly solid. For a little extra comfort (optional) you can get a headrest and sheepskin throw, how very nordic.
It didn’t take me long to grab my cushions, blanket, a good magazine and rock away. Even though this chair is made of formed plastic, the shape is perfectly formed for the body. Adding a few throws and cushions perfect to make it cosy. There is an upholstered version too made from a 3d wood veneer and upholstered in either fabric or leather.
Due to my very weak neck (because of the operations I’ve had), I always hunt for the perfect neck support and I was happy that there was a padded neck cushion as I need things like this. (I am often watching tv on the sofa with a travel pillow, that’s another story for another day).
A beautiful shape and silhouette. The Stingray was great to try out at home, I encourage you to find one and try it out!

Oh Hannah, you look so cosy. I feel like this chair needs to stay with you forever!
Gosh I’d feel like a James Bond villain in this, but a very happy and cosy one!
Looks incredibly comfortable and that looks like the perfect spot for it. Please tell me they let you keep it?
What a beautiful chair – I’d love one, but I haven’t the space! x
Wow a completely different shape! A real talking point. I think I’d nod off curled up in a cat-like ball if I had one of these ha x
It’s such a gorgeous shape and feels so at home in your new place hun.. I can’t imagine being able to give it back! 😉
