Blues and greens are becoming a featured interiors colour trend for 2016 from accessories, furniture, stationary to lighting. Scandinavian designers are indeed embracing colour, they DO like colour and know how to use it well, it’s not all monochrome and white walls. However monochrome interiors may still be my favourite, I’m quite taken with the use of blues and greens as accent colours.
These colours have a very natural feel, without being too bold, they’re sophisticated with a grey under tone, complimenting both the natural and industrial. Leafy greens, teal and dusky blues are all featured in this interiors colour trend.
Capturing the trend, I’ve selected a three products that I have at home and really love, all are from Danish design companies that I adore.
Vase by AYTM. A Danish brand that is bold on colour and texture. Having a wide range of accessories and furniture it’s soon a company to take notice of and will be seen here in the UK I’m sure.
Storage box by HAY. We all know that I’m obsessed with HAY and their storage boxes are brilliant. Sold in a collection of five various sizes ranging from light grey to dark blue.
Notebook by Kartotek. I discovered Kartotek at the danish trade show northmodern, their range of stationary is truly beautiful, with stylishly simple design.

I love to use this colour as an accent! I recently bought a bowl in this colour and placed on the dining table. It turned out pretty good 🙂
that sounds lovely! x
Ooh, utterly gorgeous colours, I really do adore these sorts of hues and tones. Love that cushion in particular x
I think this is the perfect colour for a home office, calming but not plain and gives a fresh feel, perfect for a work space.
