ferm LIVING continue to celebrate their 10 year anniversary in style by being one of the first ever brands to host a pop-up shop in the iconic power station, Bremerholm 6, designed by Hans Christian Hansen, 1962. The power plant served electricity to Copenhagen from 1963 – 2013. After being phased out as a substation, the building was then prepped and ready for a new life.
The exterior is striking and powerful but also beautifully refined which is also the case of the abandoned industrial interior with concrete floors, original railings and huge metal doors. This must (undoubtably) become a place for architect and design lovers to appreciate and enjoy. Now Bremerholm 6 is open to the public for the first time and Danish brand ferm LIVING have made the power station look even more special and a place where I want to live!
“Following our ambition of constantly striving to develop our brand, and to celebrate our 10 years anniversary, we have opened a dedicated ferm LIVING universe in an unique location. We have been looking for an extraordinary space to open our first shop. A location, which will be seen as an extension of our design ambitions. We feel that we have found that in the old power station, with its characteristic exterior and raw and authentic interior which works as a perfect contrast to our products”, Trine Andersen, creative director and founder of ferm LIVING explains and continues“We are looking very much forward to invite our customers into the iconic building with and hopefully give them an unique and inspiring experience.”
Within the courtyard behind the power station ferm LIVING have set up a pop-up cafè and plant shop, a dream for all those plants lovers and urban jungle bloggers too!
Open until 28th May (2016), so if you’re in Copenhagen then I suggest it’s worth a visit! I’ve got my flight booked!
